CookCap — Terms of Use
Last updated: 25 October 2026 · Version 3.7.8
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of CookCap, a family cookbook Progressive Web App published by Shamikh Ahmed / Capricorn Systems (“we,” “us”). By using CookCap, you agree to these Terms.
1. The service
CookCap helps you keep a personal or household recipe edition: a named hardcover book, bundled catalog recipes, cook mode, search, shopping list, and related tools. The app is provided as-is for personal, non-commercial use unless otherwise agreed in writing.
2. Accounts & data
- CookCap does not require an account. Your edition, photos, and plans are stored on your device.
- You are responsible for backing up via export / merge before changing devices or clearing site data.
- We do not operate servers that store your kitchen data. Hosting of the static app is described in the Privacy Policy.
3. Free app
CookCap is free. There are no subscriptions, in-app purchases, or Pro tiers required to use the book features described in the product today.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse CookCap or reverse engineer the app solely to build a competing service from Capricorn’s proprietary UI and catalog curation.
5. Intellectual property
CookCap branding, UI, and software are owned by Capricorn Systems / Shamikh Ahmed. Recipe titles, cuisines, and food photography may reference common culinary knowledge or licensed sources as attributed in-app. CookCap is not affiliated with third-party recipe networks.
6. Disclaimers
CookCap provides cooking information and estimates only. We do not guarantee allergy safety, nutrition accuracy, or outcomes. Use your own judgment for dietary needs.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the app or loss of local data.
8. Changes
We may update these Terms with the app version. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
